Michela Carlana

Michela Carlana is a PhD candidate in Economics at Bocconi University and she is a PODER fellow at Stockholm University. She is working on evaluating the impact of an innovative randomized program that provided tutoring and career counseling to a random sample of immigrant children displaying high academic potential. Furthermore, she is studying the role of teachers’ gender stereotypes in affecting students’ outcomes. She visited Harvard University during last academic year. Finally, toward the end of the fellowship, she started a new project “Immigration, Natives’ Marriage and Family Structure during the Age of Mass Migration” joint with M.
