On a broader perspective, Elif is interested in policy related issues, in particular their analyses using experimental methods. She has obtained her doctoral degree from Koc University. During her Phd studies, she has worked on a large scale field experiment, in which the focus was to analyze whether non-cognitive traits such as perseverance, grit and self-control are malleable during childhood. The experiment was a randomized-controlled educational intervention, whose impact was measured through incentivized economics experiments, personality tests as well as teacher and student questionnaires.
